How to convert audio to MP3 or WAV

Drop in a file, pick a format, download — all in your browser.

  1. 1

    Drop in your audio

Drag in or browse for the file you want to convert — M4A, OGG, FLAC, WAV, MP3 and more. It stays on your device; nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Check the details

The converter decodes your file locally and shows its length, so you know you’ve picked the right track before you convert.

  3. 3

    Choose MP3 or WAV

Pick MP3 for a small file that plays everywhere, or WAV for uncompressed, full-quality audio. For MP3, set the bitrate — 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps.

  4. 4

    Convert and download

Hit Convert and the new file downloads straight to your device. No watermark, no signup, no quality games.

Audio Converter — FAQ

Is this audio converter really free?

Yes — convert as many files as you like, free, with no signup and no watermark. An optional Pro membership (NZ$9/mo) adds batch conversion for whole folders, but a single file is always fully free.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. Your file is decoded and re-encoded entirely inside your browser using the Web Audio API — it never leaves your device and nothing is stored on a server.

Which formats can I convert from?

Anything your browser can decode, which covers most common files: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, Opus and usually FLAC. If a file can’t be decoded, you’ll see a clear message — re-save it as MP3 or WAV first and try again.

Should I pick MP3 or WAV?

MP3 is best for sharing, podcasts and music — it’s small and plays on every device. WAV is uncompressed and full quality, handy when you’re importing into editing software like a Reel edit or a property video voiceover.

Can I convert a voice memo from my iPhone?

Yes. iPhone voice memos and recordings are usually M4A — drop one in and convert it to MP3 so it plays cleanly on any NZ client’s phone, PC or email. Great for sending a quick recording to a vendor or buyer.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes — it runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser, no app to install. Larger WAV files use more memory, so very long recordings convert fastest on a laptop.
