Is this favicon generator really free?
Yes — make as many favicons as you like, free, with no signup and no watermark. There is an optional Pro membership (NZ$9/mo) for batch work across the tools, but generating a full favicon set here is fully free on its own.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is drawn onto a canvas and the PNGs are built right inside your browser, so your logo never leaves your device. There is no server and nothing is stored online — handy when the artwork is a brand asset you would rather not upload.
Which sizes and files do I get?
Square PNGs at 16, 32, 48, 180, 192 and 512px. The 180px file is named apple-touch-icon.png for iOS home screens, and the 192/512 files are wired into a site.webmanifest for Android and PWAs. You also get a copy-paste HTML snippet of the <link> tags.
I run a small NZ business site — what do I actually do with these?
Unzip the files into the root of your website (the same folder as your index page), then paste the supplied <link> tags into your <head>. Whether you are on a Lovable, WordPress, Squarespace or hand-built site, your logo then shows in the browser tab and when someone bookmarks or saves you to their phone home screen.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes — it runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser, no app to install. You can generate and download a favicon set straight from your phone, including the Apple touch icon used when someone adds your site to their iPhone home screen.
My logo is not square — will it look stretched?
It will not stretch. “Fit whole logo” centres your artwork inside the square with even margins, and “Fill the square” scales it to fill and crops the overflow evenly. For the sharpest result, start from a roughly square image at least 512px wide.
