How to resize an image

Exact pixels or a quick percentage — all free and all in your browser.

  1. 1

    Open your image

Drag in or browse for a JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC photo. It stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.

  2. 2

    Pick pixels or percentage

Set an exact width and height in pixels, or scale the whole image to a percentage of its original size.

  3. 3

    Lock the aspect ratio

Keep “Locked” on and the height follows your width automatically, so the image never looks squashed. Unlock it to set both sides independently.

  4. 4

    Use a preset (optional)

    One tap fits the image to 1080px or 1920px wide, a 1080 × 1080 square, or a 1200 × 630 social-share box.

  5. 5

    Resize and download

Click Resize, check the new dimensions, and download the file in seconds. Same format, no watermark.

Resize Image — FAQ

Is this image resizer really free?

Yes — resize as many images as you like, free, with no signup and no watermark. An optional Pro membership (NZ$9/mo) adds batch resizing and saved history, but the single-image tool is fully usable on its own.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The resizer uses your browser’s own canvas to read and rewrite the image, so the file never leaves your device. There is no server and nothing is stored online — which is exactly why it is safe for client documents and listing photos.

How do I resize without distorting the image?

Keep the aspect-ratio lock on (the “Locked” button). Set the width and the height adjusts to match, so the photo keeps its proportions. Only unlock it when you deliberately want a different shape.

Can I resize property or listing photos for Trade Me and social?

Yes. Use the 1920px-wide preset for crisp Trade Me and OneRoof photos, 1080 × 1080 for an Instagram square, or 1200 × 630 for a Facebook or LinkedIn share card — handy for Auckland agents and any NZ small business posting online.

Does the file get bigger or smaller?

Making the dimensions smaller almost always reduces the file size, which is great for faster-loading pages and emails. Enlarging past the original can soften detail, so it is best kept for small bumps.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes — it runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser, and it reads iPhone HEIC photos too. No app to install.
