Is this mute video tool really free?
Yes — mute as many videos as you like, free, with no signup and no watermark. An optional Pro membership (NZ$9/mo) adds batch processing for lots of clips at once, but the free tool is fully usable on its own.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. Your video is processed entirely in your browser using an on-device video engine. The file never leaves your device — there is no server, nothing is uploaded, and nothing is stored online.
Will muting reduce the video quality?
No. The audio track is removed while the picture is stream-copied, so the video is not re-encoded. The result is lossless and the file usually stays close to its original size.
Which video formats can I mute?
Anything your browser can play — typically MP4, WebM and MOV. The muted file keeps the same format you started with. If a clip will not load, try re-saving it as MP4 (H.264) first.
Can I use it for a property reel or social clip?
Absolutely — it is handy for dropping the background noise off an Auckland listing walkthrough or a social clip before you add your own voiceover or music. No app to install and nothing leaves your device.
Does it work on my phone, and why are large files slow?
Yes — it runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser. Because everything happens on your device, very large or long videos can take a while, especially on a phone. For the fastest result, mute shorter clips.
